Fever

My photography-Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India

Watch me closely,

Brand this image now,

Lest tomorrow

You see postcards in memoriam.

Watch as I burn,

Brush to bracken to birds,

A contagious fever

Of your delirium.

About the post:

Different parts of India have seen a surge in the number of forest fires (Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, J&K, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, etc) . In a written reply to the Rajya Sabha, the Environment Minister said that a total of 20,667 incidents of forest fires have taken place till April and the total incidents of forest fires was 15,937 in 2015 (Read more here). Reports have said that rising temperatures, a prolonged dry season is responsible and that it is not a new phenomenon. However, the spike in numbers beg a greater reflection and action.  Nature is perhaps telling us something and we’re being ignorant.
